YES Forum December News - Happy Holidays!

Dear ###USER_first_name### ###USER_last_name###,

We are back with the latest news and progresses concerning the YES Forum and our members.  The year 2020 is coming to an end and despite all the hardships that it has brought we want to celebrate our achievements with you! The Covid 19 pandemic has influenced our work deeply, but we were able to take on the challenge and try and test innovative solutions. On this note we would like to present our events and news to you and to wish you happy and safe holidays and a good start in 2021!

Our virtual General Assembly

YES Forum’s first virtual General Assembly successfully took place from the 20th to 21st October. The two day event was open to members and interested parties alike. The participants were able to exchange ideas and to talk about current development and the struggles that the youth work sector is facing nowadays.

We presented our new and ongoing projects and the newly developed YES Forum strategy was also introduced. After the voting procedure we were furthermore able to welcome a new member. The Austrian organisation ÖJAB works with many different target groups and has been the organiser of the meetings in Vienna last September.

The highlight of the second day was the keynote speech given by Floor van Houdt, who is the head of the Unit for Youth, Volunteer Solidarity and Traineeship office on Youth policy and Erasmus+.

The virtual General Assembly showed that working together from a distance can be fruitful! We hope to have further inspired you and your peers, that progress is possible. Stay in touch!

The report of the General Assembly can be found here!

Christmas Party on the 17th December

On the 17th of December our much anticipated Christmas party will take place virtually.

While Christmas will certainly look different this year, we would like to invite you to our YES Forum virtual Christmas get together on the 17th of December. We'll meet at 2 PM (CET) in our ZOOM room.

Christmas time is story telling time. We want to hear YOUR story, enjoy the afternoon to maintain and strengthen our network.

The YES Forum Secretariat is encouraging our members to take part in our Christmas celebrations and is looking forward to it.

Europe 3E Training: “What is EU Peer-Research: The EU and me”

From the 2nd to 6th November the Europe3E Project held its first online meeting involving young people and youth workers. It was the first opportunity for a majority of the youngsters to experience their first Erasmus+ exchange.

The training aimed at providing the young participants with a necessary knowledge of the European Union. Complementary they also received an introduction into the Photovoice method. With a little bit of luck the participants will meet again in Brussels or Strasbourg in mid – 2021 to take part in a simulation of the European parliament and to showcase their pictures in a photo exhibition.

For more information, you can also check the project webpage.

3rd European Youth Convention

Finally! The 3rd European Youth Work convention is just around the corner. The Event will be held online from the 7th to the 10th December of 2020.  The European get together is a perfect opportunity to discuss all and anything relating to youth work, exchange the latest updates and to network with your peers.

On the four days professionals and multipliers from youth work practice, youth policy and youth research will come together for the third time. This event will also give participants the chance to further work on the implementation of the European Youth Work Agenda!

Since the Youth Convention will be held in the same period as the German EU Council presidency and the Council of Europe presidency the event will be hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

More Information can be found here. Also make sure to have a look at the program!
