Public Consultation – Mid-term evaluation of Erasmus+

Until 31st May, the European Commission will be conducting a public consultation to seek feedback on Erasmus+ and predecessor programmes (Lifelong Learning, Youth in Action, Erasmus Mundus…).

The answers will feed the ongoing independent mid-term evaluation of the Erasmus+ Programme, which will in turn inform future legislative works in this field.

The consultation and additional information are available online here.

EU Solidarity Corps: Open to Organisations!

Three months after the launch of the European Solidarity Corps, organisations can now offer European Solidarity Corps placements.

Organisations who are already accredited with one of the funding programmes contributing to the Solidarity Corps, including Erasmus+, have access to the online platform automatically and can now directly select young people interested in a solidarity placement.

YourEP officially starts!

YES Forum's latest youth project "YourEP", funded by the Erasmus+ programme, will run from April 2017 to December 2018.

This Strategic Partnership will involve a total of 10 partners in order to develop and implement a political simulation of the European Parliament specifically designed for youngsters with fewer opportunities.

During the first months, project partners will recruit and prepare their young participants for the main events in November in Brussels and May 2018 in Strasbourg. They will also meet in Stuttgart on 30-31 May to plan these meetings ahead, with the help of the young participants themselves. More details are available here.

“Our Life. Our Voice” at the DJHT2017, Düsseldorf

On 28-30 March, our young experts from the project "Our Life. Our Voice. Young people and poverty" held their own workshop in the #DJHT2017 summit "Creating a Social and Fair Europe for all Young People" in Düsseldorf!

In front of a large audience, each group presented and discussed the initiatives they carried out in their home countries – Italy, Romania, Germany, the United-Kingdom and Finland – to investigate youth poverty and its effects, and contribute to tackle it with their own policy proposals.

Next step: presenting these proposals to EU officials and stakeholders in Brussels during the project’s Final conference on 4 May!

To check the pictures gallery, please click here. A video prepared by Fundatia Ruhama to present the project and its outcomes is also available!

EVS4All Final conference, Berlin – And so it ends!

On 20-21 March, the EVS4All project came to a festive conclusion with the “Volunteering for Social Change” conference in Berlin.

Altogether, the project partners, their young participants and the broader audience celebrated the project's results and the EVS4All young volunteers' involvement, with the exceptional participation of MEP Brando Benifei and Daniel Cohn-Bendit!

Pictures from the EVS4All Final conference are available here.

You can also check the project’s results on the EVS4All website. Besides the policy recommendations “Towards a More Inclusive European Voluntary Service”, the consortium also produced a presentation on “Blended Mobilities: Discovering Digital Learning” based on the experiments conducted during the project.

YES Forum at the Solidarity Corps Stakeholder Forum

Following the public consultation on the European Solidarity Corps, the YES Forum took part in the Solidarity Corps Stakeholders Forum organised in Brussels on 12 April by the European Commission.

The forum focused on:

  • making the European Solidarity Corps attractive to young people
  • effective set up and governance for the initiative
  • young people's employability and reaching the disadvantaged

From avoiding additional bureaucracy to securing existing programmes such as Erasmus+, the YES Forum promoted the youth field’s needs in order to make sure the future Solidarity Corps is actually accessible to disadvantaged youngsters.

The YES Forum’s position paper on the European Solidarity Corps is available here.

H2020 PROMISE - 2nd Partners meeting

On 22-24 February, the YES Forum joined the European universities participating in the H2020 research project PROMISE for the 2nd project meeting in Rome.

The partners reviewed the progress achieved so far in researching how young people’s responses to societal challenges create conflict and how, instead, their responses can provide opportunities for positive social engagement.

YES Forum presented different strategies to disseminate the project’s outputs so that they reach key public and private stakeholders.

For more information, please check the University of Manchester's project website.

New learning opportunities at the YES Forum!
