European Solidarity Corps: Public consultation

The Commission is preparing a legislative proposal in the first half of 2017 to create a dedicated legal base for the European Solidarity Corps, and currently welcomes feedback from stakeholders through a public consultation.

The results of the consultation will feed into the Commission's work on that legislative proposal. The consultation will be available here until 2nd April.

Record number of Erasmus+ participants in 2015

The European Commission published new figures showing that the EU's education and training programme, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is more successful than ever.

In 2015, Erasmus+ enabled 678,000 Europeans to study, train, work and volunteer abroad, more than ever before. Results also show that the programme is well on track to meet its target of supporting 4 million people between 2014 and 2020.

More figures are available in the Erasmus+ Annual Report for 2015.

#EUnarrative - Have your say!

The European Commission’s “New Narrative for Europe “ project, which has provided multiple opportunities to young people to give their opinion on the future of the European Union in 2016, is still open to young Europeans’ online participation.

Young people can send their ideas on what they want the EU to do in the future on the following website , by answering questions on a large variety of topics, such as “Unpaid internships: what are the alternatives?”or “What can be done across the EU to protect the environment?”.

These ideas will then feed into the EU institutions’ work.

Varna: European Youth Capital 2017

Varna (Bulgaria) will be this year’s European Youth Capital, and will hold events and projects designed to demonstrate the active, essential role that young people and youth organisations can and do play in society.

During one year, Varna will become a meeting point for innovative ideas, creativity and an alternative thinking. It will focus on social innovation, in particular, on the development of social entrepreneurship as a tool for development of youth participation, sustainable employment, creativity, networking, exchange and education.

Find out more on the dedicated European Youth Capital website.
