Commissioned by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), this recent report maps and evaluates the current engagement of EU institutions with civil society actors and civil dialogue practices, such as the EU Youth Dialogue.

A key challenge identified is the lack of a common framework for a more structured and institutionalised involvement of civil society in the EU decision-making process.

In our summary, we highlight the barriers to an effective civil dialogue, the critical recommendations to EU institutions, the institutional differences as well as a zoom-in the EU Youth Dialogue.
