The YES Forum 2026 Policy Event will take a closer look at two pressing topics facing young people and the EU today: On the one hand the housing crisis, with high costs for rent and limited housing options available ...
... tremendously impacting young people’s transition to adulthood – even more so for young people with fewer resources. And on the other hand, we will explore the perceived gap between young people and the EU. Low educational level and difficult financial situations significantly impact perceptions of the EU, and for the young people, this comes on top of increasing disengagement from traditional democratic processes seen across the youth demographic.
The event will offer members focused sessions to meet policymakers, exchange experiences and ensure that young people’s and youth work professional’s perspectives on overcoming housing insecurity, countering EU scepticism and more are heard at the European level.
Our Policy Event will be organised alongside Caritas Europa’s 2026 Youth Forum which brings together 100 young people and youth workers from the Young Caritas network from around Europe. YES Forum members will get the opportunity to join in a panel discussion with MEPs, exchange on the topics of housing and mental health, and connect with peers from across Europe!
This year’s event is once again suited for young people to join, and we look forward to many young people participating. We will be offering an online preparatory session for all participating young people to share information, get to know each other, address any uncertainties and give participants tips and tricks for talking to MEPs!
Take a look at our draft programme and participation conditions here, and join us in Brussels to make young people’s voices heard, engage directly with decision-makers, and help shape solutions to challenges affecting young people today.
